If your really interested in attending school in the US, please don’t go to Texas. Look at schools in the northeast or Midwest but stay out of the south. The culture is demeaning and not conducive to learning.

Brad, I’m going to have to disagree with you on that. I’m international, but I lived in Texas for a number of years. No one was ever demeaning, and I think I got a very good education there.
There may be some places in the South that are as you describe, just as there are places like that anywhere (including the Northeast and Midwest). It’s not helpful to anyone to paint a large geographic region with the same brush of generalizations.
