How to Choose the Perfect US College
Posted on April 29th, 2014 by Bryanna DavisIf your mission is to find out how to choose the perfect US college for you- you’re in the right place. There are a number of items you will want to take into consideration when trying to find the right college for you along with other great tips and tools for you to use- and we are going to share those with you.
The first place you will want to start is with the cost- before you can find the perfect college for you, it’s key to know what your budget is so you can find a school that has a price tag that will match what your bank account can afford. Even if you don’t know the exact amount you can spend, it’s important to have a general idea. Having this piece of information will allow you to weed out all of the schools that don’t fall within your target price range- and make your job easier.
Next, you need to find a school that has the degree program you’re after. Even if a school has a pleasing price- if you can’t obtain the degree that you want there then you will need to cross that school off your list.
Location, location, location. The third item you will want to take into consideration is where the school is located. This will play a big part in two ways:
- Where the school is located will have a direct impact on the cost of living. The United States is large and the amount of funds you need for basic living (food, travel, medical, etc.) will vary from one city to the next.
- Being an international student is an exciting time in your life! You need to pick a location that is appealing to you. Whether you want to live in a city, the desert, the mountains or at the beach- you can find the environment you are after.
Last, see what past students have to say about the school. Just as you would read reviews online before making any other large purchase- do the same when trying to choose the perfect US college for you. However, keep in mind that just because someone else had a great or horrible review, it doesn’t necessarily mean your time will be the same there. Check reviews but don’t let them be your final deciding point when picking the perfect US college for you.
