Experience Super Bowl While Studying in the US

On February 2nd millions of individuals in the United States will turn on their TV for one of the largest US television events of the year- the Super Bowl. Thanks to the half time show and ingenious commercials, both sports fans and non-sports fans alike find common ground when it comes to gathering for the Super Bowl.

International students in the US won’t want to miss the chance to watch the game, munch on snacks and enjoy the company of new friends. If you’re not going to the Super Bowl game in New York then the next best thing is to throw a Super Bowl party. Here are a few tips to throwing a great Super Bowl party:

Borrow a Big Screen: During big games like Super Bowl, sports fans enjoy watching them on a fairly large TV. If you have a large TV or access to one, hook it up a few hours before the game and have it ready to go for kick-off.
Have Plenty of Snacks: Snacks are a big incentive for viewers who aren’t football fans to attend a Super Bowl party. To keep costs down, simply ask each guest to bring a snack. You can check out epic snacking ideas here.
Don’t Miss Halftime: Although it’s considered a break in the game, it’s actually another highlight of the game for viewers! This year Bruno Mars will be the halftime show, so you might want to take bathroom breaks and re-fill plates before halftime.
Pick a Side: Even if you aren’t a football fan, do a bit of research on the two teams participating in the Super Bowl game- the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks, and pick one to cheer for. Cheering for a team helps you get more involved in the game and can be really exciting if your team wins!
