International Students in South Carolina

The University of South Carolina, founded in 1801, is the flagship school of the University of South Carolina System, and is recognized nationally for several of its superb undergraduate and graduate degree programs. International students interested in studying in South Carolina at the University of South Carolina not only get to enjoy the beautiful geographic landscapes and incredible American history that surrounds this campus, they get to take confidence in the merit and recognition their university receives for the high quality educational programs it provides its students.

For example, in rankings published by U.S. News and World Report, University of South Carolina’s graduate programs in school and social psychology ranked among the nation’s top ten! International students interested in studying in South Carolina at the University of South Carolina can also boast that their undergraduate and graduate programs in international business have been consistently ranked at #1 or #2 for decades! The National Research Council, which ranks USC among other academic institutions in the southern region of the United States (which includes the states of South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia, West Virginia, Georgia, and Florida), listed its doctoral program in electrical engineering as #1 in the region, its Geography doctoral program at #2 and its English doctoral program at #5. Other doctoral programs offered by the state that ranked among the top ten in their respective fields for this region include: Biological sciences, Chemical engineering, Mechanical engineering, History, Pharmacy, and Chemistry. Not to mention, University of South Carolina has one of the highest rates of international student enrollment within the state (accounting for approximately 25% of its total international student enrollment).
