The 2011 Travel Video contest has now closed, and the entries this year have poured in! Our technical team have been working overtime over the past few days, making sure we can get them all online and we managed to do this and they are available to view on our contest homepage. This year we have two great enhancements to the competition to help those who submitted videos spread the word:

1. Each video now has its own landing page on the site – this allows anyone to share the page to their Facebook Friends, Twitter Followers or any other social media platform simple by clicking the buttons at the top of each page. Share your favorite videos with your friends and let them know about all the excellent entries we have this year!
2. We have also added in user voting this year – simply click on the “Vote” button, confirm with your email address and vote for as many videos as you want to!

As most of you will know, the 2011 Travel Video Contest we hold each year has just opened and will run until the end of October. This year, we expect it to be bigger and even better than before and the interest from you all has been outstanding, and we were even receiving emails back in August asking us when the contest will open.

The format this year will be the same, in a video which should be no more than 5 minutes in length, tell us why you want to study or travel abroad – that is really the main guidance we can give you and then the rest is up to you. We suggest taking a look at previous years winners, they have all brought something new to the competition and that is what we are looking for – something that is really original!

We are also planning to introduce some cool new features this year to the voting, those will all be finalized in the coming weeks – so keep coming back for more updates as we introduce them. If you have been sleeping under a rock the past few days, you will not have realized that the 2010 travel video contest winners were announced on Friday, the mark the end of International Education Week. We had some fantastic entries this year, and unfortunately we were not able to show them all on our site – though we do thank all those who managed to get a video to us on time!

Eventually, the judges were pretty much unanimous in their decision that Caitlin Collom and her video “Watch Out Scotland” was the 2010 winner, having written, performed and shot the video all herself – it was certainly one of the most original video entries we have ever received.

The 2009 International Student Travel Video Contest has now closed! This year we received more entries than ever before and some fantastic entries which we are sure will make you laugh. We would also like to thank everyone who entered this year, we have literally been amazed by the quality of some of your work and our judging panel has a lot of hard work ahead to choose our winner! As many of you will have seen, we have announced the winners and runners up from the 2008 Annual Travel Video Contest. This year we had some fantastic entries, and many more than we expected – so it was a very hard decision!

But, in the end “Jorgeratu” won the $3,000 grand prize! See his winning video, along with the winning videos from the past 3 years below!
