New UK Student Visa Rules

The new system can seem a little complicated and daunting if you take a look at the UK Visas website, however there is a great little video that can help you better understand the new points system for getting a visa to study in the UK:

I think the British Embassy has changed and lifted up this 28 days show money policy. The new policy will be released again on September 3oth. Goodluck to all applicants!

Hi I am planning to apply Tier 4 student visa to do my PG for january 2010 intake. My total cost including tuition fees and living expenses is 14,24 Lacs. I have applied for a bank loan and got sanctioned with Rs.10 Lacs. The balance amount Rs.4,24 Lacs is in my account as an initial deposit for bank loan. Is it required for me to hold tis 4,24 Lacs in my account for a period of 28 days prior to VISA application. Please help me out in this issue since I am running short of time.

Hi, I applied for my VISA on 4th Jan. I opened up a Fix deposit(maintenance fee) on 20th Nov and on 21st Dec. I took the letter from bank and submitted to VFS with all my support doc. Now in the VFS application tracking system I can see the status as “Visa application is under process at the British High Commission”.
So my question is do we need to keep the money in the bank till I get the VISA?
“from 1 October 2009, you must be able to prove that the money you need to apply has been in your account for 28 days before you submit your application.”

Everybody is crazy to come to UK but I must suggest that they must check existing conditions from their UK friends before applying/coming weihter they can survive or not because they are investing a lot of money which is a big amount for every middle class pakistani.

Hi,
I am doing post bsc nursing from a university. It is a collaborative program 7 months in India rest in UK so only 4 months i will be there in UK. So is it possible 4 me to get post study work visa for 2 years ? Then after completing the course it will take 2-3 months for results.So how i can stay there for that period ?

To all potential applicants of UK study visa, on the basis of my UK experience, now a day’s getting Tier 4 visa is not a big achievement but actual thing is how they will survive here. Therefore, I advise to all my brothers and sisters that they must have enough money which will cover their full tuition fees along with living cost because at the moment part time job conditions are very tight in UK. Time is already gone away when students think they will earn money from here and study. Otherwise they could face deep trouble here.

hi i am from the philippines, a nurse.ielts is needed for foreign students i think they’re requiring 6.5 band score. i also appplied foe student visa under tier 4 general student category and summit the requirements 2nd week of january i paid $250 in uk embassy but until now m still waiting for my visa…ive been in saudi arabia for almost 3 years but now im here unemployed because its so hard for me to apply since i summited my passport together with all my original documents.now im thinking of withdrawing my application.

i am also apply uk student visa i get 5.5 band in ielts
and i tell you minimum 5 band required for UK college study
and 5.5 and above band UK university accepted
if you have ielts above 5 band than u your visa chance 75% and 25% depend on your luck.
but without ielts u get admission easily but embassy approval chance very low. my opinion if u want study in UK please do first ielts.
