Ok, so we know that the USA, Canada, Australia and the UK are probably the most popular destinations for students to look at when looking for a country in which to gain an international education – but have you considered China?
The Chinese government has come out and said that in 2007 they will be providing scholarships for a record 11,000 international students who come to study in China. The announcement, made on December 21st by the Vice Minister for Education, shows China’s commitment to encourage students from all around the world to study in China and is a great boost for the international education sector.
In 2005, China received nearly 140,000 students from over 179 countries, and hopes to increase this number over the coming years.
