Though the official figures show a slight fall from the previous year – 565,039 students in 2004/05 to 564,766 students in 2005/06 – the promising figures are in the number of new international student enrollments for 2005/06 which is up 8% to 142,923 new students enrolled in the Fall 2005 semester compared to 131,945 in the previous year.
